Stop Trying to Balance Work and Family w/ Kevin Walton
Kevin Walton is a father, a spiritual guide, and one of the guest leaders at FRD Live 2026. Ali Jafarian sits down with him to talk about embodiment, the book his mom gave him that let him finally say he wasn’t crazy, and the dream that gave his practice its name, Creatorhood. But the part that speaks most directly to the FRD audience is simpler than any of that: Kevin does not try to balance work and family. He aims for harmony instead, and he has a weekly habit that keeps him honest about where his time is actually going.
Not crazy, and not alone
A book from his mother was the first thing that gave Kevin language for what he already sensed.
“I’m not crazy.”
He takes it further from there, landing on something he comes back to more than once in the conversation.
“Not only are they not crazy, they’re not alone.”
Harmony, not balance
Ali brings the conversation back to the question behind FRD Live itself, the man, the family, and the business, and asks how Kevin fits all three into one life. His answer reframes the question.
“There is no greater leadership than the example of a life lived.”
Kevin does not look for an even split between his roles. He looks for harmony, and when he is away for days teaching, he does not call it a sacrifice.
“I’m not sacrificing my time with my son … I’m dedicating myself to my role as a teacher.”
The line he returns to for all of it is short.
“Love is not sacrifice, love is dedication.”
The weekly check-in
Kevin plans his week around his son’s games and his own teaching schedule, and he runs a weekly check-in to see where his time and attention actually went, not where he meant for them to go. The point is not to hit a perfect ratio. It is to keep noticing.
“Life isn’t this or that, it’s all of it.”
Kevin will be in Austin, Texas this December as a guest leader at FRD Live 2026, December 2 to 4. Find out more at frontrowdads.com/live.

More About Front Row Dads
Connect with us @ FrontRowDads.com & Instagram.
FRD is solving a huge problem for dads. Our culture has turned “Dad” into a joke. Go ahead, google Dad and you’ll find Dad Bod, Dad Jokes, Dad Weed, etc. Culturally, it’s a Homer Simpson mentality, and it’s BS.
Our community is built for solid men. Men with range. Those who are badass, and know there’s still more to learn, together. Most guys find it hard to find “their crew.” Finding other committed men who are successful in life and want to put family first. These guys are rare. Is this you? In FRD, hundreds of men from all over the world show up for each other, to share resources and raise the bar of fatherhood (our core values.) If you’re reading this, you want to grow.
Podcasts are great, but guys, when you’re ready to stop just listening to content and want to JOIN the conversations, the FRD brotherhood is ready for you. One more thing… Has this podcast helped you? If so, please tell us how we’re doing. Please take a minute and leave a review. Seriously, they matter. Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you listen.
