How Conflict is Change Trying to Happen, Internal Family Systems and Meeting Vulnerability with Vulnerability with Rick Hupp
Rick Hupp is an experienced Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Sex Addiction Therapist, specializing in helping people heal from trauma and build better relationships. If your life ever feels like a broken puzzle with a few missing pieces, we’ll talk about how you can put it back together today.
In our conversation, we’ll explore a few big questions: why do so many guys struggle to create peaceful, loving relationships? How does our past factor into our present relationships and “Internal Family Systems”? And how can we manage conflict, triggers, and resentment in better and healthier ways for our families.
Rick shares some practical tools for easing tension in relationships and choosing our partners in ways that aren’t just repeating the same old patterns. We’ll talk about meeting vulnerability with more vulnerability when we’d typically release our anger on our partners and create guilt and shame instead of repairing and resolving our issues.

FRD is solving a huge problem for dads. Our culture has turned “Dad” into a joke. Go ahead, google Dad and you’ll find Dad Bod, Dad Jokes, Dad Weed, etc. Culturally, it’s a Homer Simpson mentality, and it’s BS.
Our community is built for solid men. Men with range. Those who are badass, and know there’s still more to learn, together.
Most guys find it hard to find “their crew.” Finding other committed men, who are successful in life, and want to put family first – these guys are rare. Is this you?
In FRD, hundreds of men from all over the world show up for each other, to share resources and raise the bar of fatherhood (our core values.)
If you’re reading this, you want to grow. Podcasts are great, but guys… when you’re ready to stop just listening to content, and want to JOIN the conversations – the FRD brotherhood is ready for you.
