Imagine mixing the toughness of a wilderness hunter and developing primal sensitivity with the mindset of a Buddhist. That’s Dan Doty in a nutshell.

Dan has dedicated his life to supporting men’s mental health. Today, he’s offering us a fresh take on what masculinity and fatherhood can look like when it’s both strong and emotionally present. Plus, you’ll hear what led one of his sons to ask for a month-long camping trip with him.

Dan Doty has been a guest on Joe Rogan’s podcast three times, and for good reason. Enjoy!

Dan Doty Bio

Dan Doty is a writer, wilderness guide, leader in men’s work, and a teacher of somatic meditation. Most at ease in the natural world, he is devoted to practices and teachings that bring human wildness and love into the open. He has been a guest on the Joe Rogan Experience three times and spent significant periods working as a wilderness therapy guide and as an inner-city high school teacher.

Additionally, he directed and produced over 50 episodes of the hit hunting show MeatEater. As the visionary and founder of EVRYMAN, he has led retreats, hosted a paradigm-shifting podcast, and has been fortunate enough to give talks worldwide on topics like masculinity, fatherhood, and spirituality.

He has derived a deep sense of meaning from his extensive time in nature, from participating in and leading over 15,000 hours of men’s healing work, and from striving to love himself and those he encounters.

He has two young sons and a baby daughter. Deeply in love with his wife, they reside close to the land, near the sea, in a quiet and beautiful setting.

FRD is solving a huge problem for dads. Our culture has turned “Dad” into a joke. Go ahead, google Dad and you’ll find Dad Bod, Dad Jokes, Dad Weed, etc. Culturally, it’s a Homer Simpson mentality, and it’s BS.

Our community is built for solid men. Men with range. Those who are badass, and know there’s still more to learn, together.

Most guys find it hard to find “their crew.” Finding other committed men, who are successful in life, and want to put family first – these guys are rare. Is this you?

In FRD, hundreds of men from all over the world show up for each other, to share resources and raise the bar of fatherhood (our core values)

If you’re reading this, you want to grow.  Podcasts are great, but guys… when you’re ready to stop just listening to content, and want to JOIN the conversations – the FRD brotherhood is ready for you.
