Challenging Masculinity Stereotypes and the Ingredients for a Thriving Band of Brothers with Eric Farewell & Brent Perkins
Today, I’m joined by Brent Perkins and Eric Farewell, two incredible humans from our community who’ve not only crushed it as entrepreneurs but also made a tremendous impact as parents, husbands, and friends to the Brotherhood.
Brent and Eric walk us through their journey of participating in and leading FRD bands, which has helped them open up about their fears and feelings and transformed their connections with their families and everyone around them.
One of the main areas we focused on was challenging the stereotypical “strong man” image and defining real masculinity for men who are willing to put in the work, be vulnerable, and commit to being better Dads and husbands. Yes, men need to be strong, but true strength is being courageous enough to talk openly when we’re struggling.

Brent Perkins & Eric Farewell Bio
Brent Perkins is a devoted father of two wonderful daughters and a passionate enthusiast of life, nature, and community. In his late 30s, he embarked on a transformative journey to heal the pain and trauma stemming from a lack of self-love and trust.
With the guidance of friends, plant medicine, books, mentors, and a profound spiritual awakening, he decided to leave his over 20-year career as an entrepreneur and CEO to explore deeper aspects of himself.
During the decade leading up to 2011, Brent was a serial entrepreneur, founding several real estate and banking businesses. Prior to his break from the corporate world, he served as CEO of Scynce LED from 2017 to the end of 2022. Under his leadership, Scynce grew from a fledgling startup to earning a spot on the Inc. 5000 list in 2022.
Eric Farewell is a lifelong entrepreneur who began working at the age of 7 and launched his first successful business at 13. He has been fortunate to have mentorship from prominent figures since his teens and has spent years speaking at internet marketing conferences and consulting for a wide range of businesses and brands, from gaming to wellness.
In 2011, he founded a business in a remarkably small niche. By following a specific blueprint, he transformed it into the industry’s dominant player, generating millions annually.

FRD is solving a huge problem for dads. Our culture has turned “Dad” into a joke. Go ahead, google Dad and you’ll find Dad Bod, Dad Jokes, Dad Weed, etc. Culturally, it’s a Homer Simpson mentality, and it’s BS.
Our community is built for solid men. Men with range. Those who are badass, and know there’s still more to learn, together.
Most guys find it hard to find “their crew.” Finding other committed men, who are successful in life, and want to put family first – these guys are rare. Is this you?
In FRD, hundreds of men from all over the world show up for each other, to share resources and raise the bar of fatherhood (our core values.)
If you’re reading this, you want to grow. Podcasts are great, but guys… when you’re ready to stop just listening to content, and want to JOIN the conversations – the FRD brotherhood is ready for you.
